Yemen Gov’t: UN inaction encourages Houthis to take intransigent positions

Alsahwa Net-Yemen cabinet has stated that the United Nations’ inaction and not taking firm and deterrent actions has encouraged the Iran-backed Houthis to take intransigent positions.

In a meeting held today, Wednesday, in Aden, the cabinet insisted that the government would take firm positions towards the Houthi atrocities, affirming that the Houthis continue shedding blood and violating international conventions and treaties.

The Cabinet referred to the Houthi opening of fire on the convoy of the head of the UN monitoring team in Hodeidah, the prevention of the team from visiting the city's mills and the killing and injury of dozens of civilians in a shelling on an IDPs camp in Hajjah in northern Yemen a few days ago, calling the UN and the international community as a whole to shoulder their responsibility and name the party that hinders peace in Yemen.
