Gov’t rules out Houthis withdrawal from Hodeida Port

Alsahwa Net- Yemen government has ruled out that the Houthis withdrew from Hodeida Port.

Government sources affirmed that the retired Dutch general Patrick Cammaert, the head of a UN advance team in charge of monitoring the ceasefire, requested both fighting sides to provide next Tuesday proposals on mechanisms of ceasefire and forces redeployment.

The sources said that both sides met Cammaert on Friday, affirming that the government side informed Cammaert that it would not accept any unilateral measures and any decision should be taken by joint committee of redeployment.

The Houthis announced on Saturday the implementation of what they called “redeployment in Hodeida Port”. However, the government sources said that they deployed their armed men in security uniforms.

A recent report said Houthi militia fired on bulldozers of the Yemeni army during the opening of the Kilo 16 road linking Sanaa, Hodeidah and Taiz, despite both sides agreeing to open all closed humanitarian corridors from key port to the Yemeni capital.
