Houthis militias commit 1502 crimes in al-Hudeidah

Militias of the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh committed 1502 crimes and violations in al-Hudeidah governorate during 2016, a report issued by a local human rights group said.

Rasad Human Rights Organization affirmed that the militias killed nine civilians and kidnapped 452 others including politicians, lawyers, judges, activists, teachers, students, farmers and others.

The report cited that seven female lawyers and activists were abducted, pointing out that they also deported 405 persons by forces.

The crimes included murders,  injuries, torture, abductions, looting, storming and other violations.

Civilians were murdered , and eight persons were tortured to death, pointing out that dozens of children were also among the abductees.

While dozens of kidnapped persons are not known were they are detained, others are subjected to physical and mental torture in the Houthi custodies.

Many families can't report to human rights organizations about the abductions of their relatives because they fear of being punished by the Houthis.

Militias of the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh also carried out dozens of storming, lootings, occupation of private and public institutions, mosques and trading shops.
