Houthis release activist after two months of detention


Alsahwa Net- The Houthis on Wednesday released the activist Ali al-Sharabi after two months of detention in Sana’a.

Al-Shara’abi was abducted and detained lately of September after he took part in a protest against deterioration of economic situation.

The Houthis have been detaining hundreds of journalists, activists, students and politicians for four years without any trial. 

Houthi militias on Monday assaulted a number of abducted journalists in the capital Sana’a after they denied false charges leveled against them.

Human rights sources told Alsahwa Net that the Houthis brutally assaulted the journalists Salah al-Ka’edi, Akram al-Walidi, Harith Bahamid and Esam Bel-Ghat after they denied false accusations. 

The sources said that the Houthis used sticks and gun butts in assaulting the journalists, pointing out that al-Ka’edi fell unconscious after he was undressed and put in the cold weather for three hours.

What is called the “ General Prosecution” run by the Houthis is prosecuting 11 journalists who were abducted early in 2015.
