About 15,000 mines extracted from Yemeni provinces

Alsahwa Net- Masam Demining Project run by the King Slaman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Work  has managed to extract about 15,000 mines explosive devices and unexploded ammunition planted by Houthi militia in several Yemeni provinces.

Last week, Yemen army destroyed large amounts of landmines which were planted by Hotuhi militias in the districts of Kitaf and al-Bukua of Sa’ada province.

Moreover, Yemeni security forces have dismantled landmine networks planted  by Houthi militias in al-Tuhaita district of Hodeida province last month.

Security sources told Alsahwa Net that these landmines would have killed civilians if they were not removed.

The Houthis always resort to plant landmines before withdrawing, ignoring the high number of casualties.

A Yemeni NGO has unveiled staggering statistics of deaths by Houthi planted landmines. The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (YCMHRV) said 189 persons have been killed by Houthi planted landmines  in the period from April 2015 to the end of October 2017.
