France seeks to reach political reconciliation in Yemen

Alsahwa Net- France's Defense Minister Florence Parly said Tuesday that Paris, in collaboration with the United Nations, is putting pressures to reach a political solution in Yemen, instead of the military one.

"This military situation is an effective dead-end so this war must stop. That's a priority." Parly told BFM television and RMC radio.

Yemeni officials said Tuesday that the Saudi-led coalition fighting Iran-linked Huthis had sent 10,000 new troops towards the vital rebel-held port city of Hodeida.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced last Wednesday that Pakistan is to act as conciliator between the Saudi-led Arab Coalition and the Houthi Movement.

Khan affirmed that he will work to unify Muslim countries and act as conciliator to resolve conflicts among Muslim countries.

The conflict in Yemen started in 2014 when the Iran-backed Houthis seized parts of the country, including the capital, from the internationally-recognized government.

The United Nations is trying to resolve the Yemeni conflicts, but it attempts has not succeed so far.
