Houthi threat to international shipping on OIC discussion table next Wednesday

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a meeting at the level of permanent representatives of the member states on Wednesday to discuss the attack on two Saudi oil tankers by the Houthi militia and the threat posed to the freedom of shipping and international trade in Bab al-Mandeb Strait and other parts of the Red Sea.

The meeting, which was called for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will be addressed by the OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, as well as by the Chairman of the Delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The kingdom has resumed exports of oil shipments through the Bab al-Mandab Strait after the Arab Coalition took measures to secure shipping in the wake of the Houthi militants' attack on two Saudi oil tankers.
