Protest staged before presidential palace in commemoration of Houthi massacre

A number of people from the province of Beidha in central Yemen staged a protest before the presidential palace in Aden on Monday to commemorate the second anniversary of a Houthi massacre against local chieftains.

In August 2016, the Islamist rebels who were fighting to invade the Beidha province summoned four oppositionist tribal chieftains (Sheikhs) in a deceptive operation executed them on the spot and dumped their bodies in a torrential rainwater tunnel in the province.

The protesters called it the "most appalling crime in the history of Beidha province."

They demanded President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to provide more support to the army to push back the militants from the rest of the territories of Beidha.
