Marib closes 26 money exchange shops following decline of Rial value

Local authorities in Marib closed 26 unlicensed money exchange shops based on the Central Bank's decision to counter the deterioration of the local currency, Riyal, against foreign currencies.

A local governmental committee, composed of various relevant authorities headed by Marib's deputy head of the Public Prosecution Nabil al-Adimi, closed the shops and sealed them with red wax, and prepared judicial seizure records in accordance with the law to complete the legal proceedings against violators of money exchange business.

This campaign coincides with similar campaigns in all liberated governorates after the recent decline of the Yemeni riyal, which caused an insane rise in the prices of all commodities including essential food items.
