Yemen will address UNSC over international shipping lines protection, says FM

Foreign Minister Khalid Alyemany said Yemen will act urgently to confront the criminal acts of Houthis after the terrorist militia carried out a new attack against oil tankers in the Red Sea.


He said that Yemen's delegation to the UN will act in coordination with the Kuwaiti mission, the only Arab member state of the UN Security Council, to file a direct complaint with the UNSC the Houthi attack  on commercial ships in the Red Sea.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat daily quoted him as saying that he would "ask the UNSC to act quickly to stop these stark attack violations of the international navigation law."

Al-Yamani said the international community and the UN Security Council are fully responsible the crimes that the Houthis exercise in the south of the Red Sea shipping lines for tolerating with the militia. 

He said that peace with Houthis can never be even talked about before they full and unconditionally with from the country's west coast.
