Family of slain journalist al-Absi blames Houthi militia for his death

The family of Mohammed Abdo al-Absi a journalist slain in Sana'a in December 2016 blamed the Houthi militia for the killing of their son.

Al-Absi's family said in a statement that "for more than a year and a half, the Criminal Investigation Department in Sana'a has been holding the dossier of the martyred journalist Mohammed Abdu al-Absi with a stubborn determination to bury his case and obliterate the evidences on it.

A forensic report earlier identified the cause of Al-Absi's death as Carbon monoxide poisoning, which is considered fatal.

The family accused the Houthis' "Criminal Investigation Prosecution in Sana'a" of complicity, pointing out that until now the case has not been referred to the public prosecution nor any serious action or further investigation on it was taken. A sign that the militia, as all along believed, is the party behind al-Absi's killing.
