Arab Coalition spokesman says Houthi missile fired from Amran

The spokesman of the Arab Coalition, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, said that the ballistic missile militia that the Iran-aligned Houthi militia launched toward Saudi Arabia on Friday evening was fired from Amran province north of the capital Sana'a.

The rocket was intercepted by the Saudi air defenses and destroyed in the air without any damage.

"The missile was deliberately launched by the Houthi militia to target civilian and populated areas. The Saudi Royal Air Force was able to intercept and destroy it. The interception did not result in any casualties," al-Maliki said in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

"This hostile act by the Houthi terrorist militia of Iran proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi armed militia with quality capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of UN resolution 2216 and resolution 2231 with a view to threatening the security of Saudi Arabia and the regional and international security.
