Eighty four families lost their breadwinners in Taiz in 2 months: NGO

As many as eighty four families have lost their breadwinners in the war-torn Taiz province during April and May 2018, a local NGO has said a in newly issued report.

The Coalition for Humanitarian Relief said that 150 other persons in charge of providing to their families were wounded beyond earning capacity in Houthi attacks during the same period. .

The Coalition documented the death of 14 children, nine women and 53 adult men, and  the injury of 24 children, eight women and 58 adult men in the shelling that the Shia extremist rebels mounted on the neighborhoods of downtown Taiz city which is under their siege since early 2015.

The Coalition said that the rebels killed and injured six civilians by landmines and 21 others by sniper shooting.

The rebels' showdown with government forces left 324 orphans and caused the damage of 75 public and private properties including houses.

The rebels forced 162 families out of their houses in the districts of Taiziyah and al-Hayma areas.
