Al Jaber: Massive aid plan for Yemen aims to increase land ports, expand seaports and airports


Addressing a seminar in King Saud's University in the Saudi capital Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Yemen Mohammad Al Jaber said that the Saudi and Arab massive humanitarian aid plan for Yemen is aiming at improving the humanitarian situation on a large scale and beyond the provision of relief, food, medical and air support and financial and material support.

 

Al-Jaber has pointed out that the plan is now aiming at increasing land ports and expanding the capacity of sea and air ports and infrastructure of roads to be able to receive more aid.


He said the Saudi total assistance to Yemen until the end of this day is 10.96 billion dollars in support of the Central Bank, development assistance, bilateral government-to-government assistance, assistance to Yemeni visitors as well as humanitarian assistance.

A representative of the Saudi Ministry of Finance in the seminar said the total Saudi support the Central Bank of Yemen has amounted to $ 3 billion in cash deposits to shore up the depreciating the Yemeni currency Riyal.
