Arab Coalition provides Taiz with 30 patrol cars, governor says police set out on their duties

The governor of Taiz province, Ameen Ahmed Mahmoud, said that the Saudi-led Arab Coalition has succeeded in defusing tensions between the paramilitary Abu al-Abbas Brigades and the security forces in the city.

He said that the security services in the province have taken over all the government headquarters that were under the control of the Brigades, without exception, and that the local police have begun to exercise their work in the precinct evacuated by the Brigades.

Taiz governor is evacuating the city's paramilitary city defenders who once needed to seize state facilities and militarize them to the front lines where Houthi rebels are besieging the city.

After some disagreements and brief clashes last week, Abu al-Abbas Brigades finally surrendered their posts to the law enforcement committee formed by the governor.
