Houthis commit and protect severe human rights abuses in Sana'a

Houthis are not only the de facto rulers of Sana'a, but the perpetrators and protectors of severe human rights abuses and crimes of various forms in the city.

In addition to the rebels involvement in marauding gang crimes, the radical rebels in courts and government institutions they seize tolerate and cover up on serious human rights abuses.

Last week a man killed his sister before the eyes of the judge in the courtroom just because she wanted the court to wed the knot to a man that her brother does not favour. He stabbed his sister making a very graphic scene for the onlookers in the court and later in the media.

The man has not yet been charged for anything and he is at large now because he is protected by the rebels.

This type of murders the perpetrators of which run off the hooks just because they are members of the rebel group have become so rife in Sana'a as well as other north Yemen areas under the control of the rebels.
