Journalists Syndicate documents 60 cases violations against press

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate has launched a new report on the violations against press freedoms in Yemen during the first quarter of 2018.

The report documented 60 violations against journalists and media institutions during the last three months from January to the end of March 2018, of which 29 were abductions, arrests and detentions.

The report indicated 12 journalists are still being kidnapped by the Houthi rebel militia in the Political Security Jail in Sana'a.

The imprisoned journalists are denied their right to medical treatment and health care.

The Syndicate documented 13 cases of assaults against reporters n addition to 4 cases of abuse and death threats, 3 cases of interrogations and trials, 4 cases of property confiscations, and two cases of prevention of coverage.
