Houthi landmines kill 700 civilians in Taiz

The Human Rights Information and Training Center, a Yemeni NGO, said that landmines planted by Houthis killed 700 civilians in the province of Taiz since the Shia rebels partly invaded the city in March 2015.

The HRITC said in a new report issued on the occasion of the International Mines Day that "the biggest war crime the Houthis have committed in Yemen over the past three years was the planting of landmines."

The report showed that the rebels systematically planted landmines, which led to "the killing of nearly 700 civilians, including 32 children and 14 women, and injury of 1,100 other civilians, including 38 children and 17 women" in the city.
