An NGO helps war affected children heal by entertaining them

Wethaq Foundation for Civil Orientation, a Yemeni NGO locally operating in the government-held city of Marib, is helping children affected by the war to heal by arranging entertaining fun activities for them.

This week, the NGO took 27 ex-child fighters in Houthi rebels ranks and children who had been mentally disturbed by experiencing the war's horrors, to a tour in Marib's historical sites including an ancient dam to get them to have fun and learn about the history behind those monuments.

There are a number of centers in the eastern Yemeni city that undertake rehabilitating ex-child soldiers in the Shia Islamist Houthis' ranks and re-integrate them into the mainstream schools.
