Almasdar Newspaper denounces abduction of journalist

Almasdar Newspaper has condemned the abduction of the journalist Yusuf Ajlan who worked for Almasdar Online, demanding to swiftly release him

Militias of the Houthis and ousted President abducted on October 25 the journalist Yusuf al-Qadi from his house on charges of working for Almasdar though he quitted the work for any media outlet after the Houthis stormed into Almasdar newspaper on March 2015 and ransacked its content

The family of Ajlan did best to release him, but all its attempts failed and he is still languishing inside a Houthi custody

In a statement issued on November 14, 2016, Almasdar demanded the Houthis to release Ajlan, holding them responsible for his life. It also renewed its demands to release the designer of Almasdar Newspaper Tawfeeq al-Mansouri who has been detained by the Houthis for a year and a half

It also demanded human rights organizations and civil society organizations to express their solidarity with Ajlan and other journalists held in Houthi custodies and put pressures to release them

The militias of the Houthis and Saleh have been holding 15 journalists since a year and half and use all kinds of torture against them.
