Big demonstrations over  cooking gas shortage and price in Sana'a

Large numbers of Sana'a residents took out to the streets on Sunday in an angry protest against the shortage of cooking gas and its prohibitive high prices in the black market run by the Houthi militia which controls the capital city.

The supply of propane gas has been steadily decreasing as Houthi rebels sell it only in the black market for to 8300 riyals per cylinder.

The sources said that the protesters marched many streets of Sana'a burned tires in the streets to show their anger.

The Houthi rebels use the revenues in the northern parts of Yemen which they govern to finance their insurgency while public servicemen have been unpaid for more than one year.
