Int'l Peace League: Houthis used more than 1,000 detainees as human shields

The International Peace League, a Yemeni NGO, has accused Houthis of using more than 1,000 detainees as human shields

The League launched yesterday two reports, the first on the repercussions of the Houthi coup on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, and the second on the use of human shields by the rebel militia.

During a seminar held at the United Nations in Geneva, the Vice President of the Yemeni Center for Studies and Research, Hamdan Zaid Dammaj, presented a report which documented the use of more than 1202 Yemeni detainees as human shields in Houthi prisons and their allies.
