Militias of the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Saturday kidnapped eight civilians from Baihan district, Shabwah governorate.
Local sources told Alsahwah Net that militias of the Houthis and Saleh force people to pay money as support to their fighters, and detain anyone who refuses to pay.
Yemeni activists on Sunday started carrying out a solidarity campaign with detainees held in custodies of the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The campaign's activists affirmed that it aimed to put pressures on the militias to release enforced disappearance persons.
Politicians, media professionals and activists are taking part in the campaign.
Thousands of officers, soldiers, journalists, politicians and activists have been detained since the Houthis took over the capital Sana'a and other governorates.
