Journalists killed, injured among others by Houthi rocket in Taiz

Houthis have reportedly killed and injured scores of people including two journalists in a ballistic missile fired on a military parade in Taiz.

Sources said the ballistic missile which Houthis claimed responsibility for firing on al-Khayami military camp in Taiz on Monday morning claimed the lives of seven people inside the camp including the correspondent of Baqees Yemeni TV, Mohammed al-Qadasi.  The rocket also injured several others including the correspondent of the Arabic version of Russia Today TV channel (RT) Basheer Aqlan. The others included military personnel and civilians attending a military parade in the camp.

Prior to striking the camp the Houthis are said to have begun shelling the neighboring villages with Katyucha rockets which resulted in killing five civilians and injured others most of them severely, local sources in Taiz said.

Yemen's Minister of Interior and his deputy are said to have been watching the parade but they and their escorts survived unscathed.
