Academics escalate protests against Houthis احتجاجات

 Academics of several Yemeni universities have escalated their protests against the Houthis, demanding the Houthis to pay  their salaries. 

Chairman of the Teaching Board Syndicate in Sana'a Universities Mohammed al-Dhahiri said that the Coordination Council of Yemeni Public Universities decided to escalate protests against the Houthis as they stopping paying salaries of university professors.  

He made clear that they will start wearing " red badges" and demanded to have their salaries which have been several by the Houthis since several months.  

Al-Dhahir stressed that the syndicate will persist until all salaries of professors are paid, pointing out that they could not afford further suffering.  

He said that there are no justifications of delaying the paying of their salaries, indicating that they and their families face sufferings as result of that. 

In a statement, the Coordination Council of Yemeni Universities citied that all the universities of Sana'a, Amran Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Aden, Hadhramout, al-Hudeidah and al-Baidha will escalate their protests against the Houthis during the next days.
