Info. minister says Aden received many fugitives fleeing Houthi abuse

Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani said that Yemen's  temporary capital, Aden, has "received many members of the GPC party including leaders and media bandits in the past few days."

Speaking to the state-run news agency "Saba" on Thursday, he said that  upon President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's directives the government will offer all the facilitation and care needed "for these fugitives fleeing the abuses of the militia" in Sana'a and other parts of north Yemen.

Local organizations have documented horrific abuses including hundreds of assassinations, abductions, forced disappearances and bombing of houses of oppositionists to the rebel Houthi militia.  The militia's abuses against their erstwhile allies of the GPC party were unleashed upon the former president Ali Saleh's announcement of discontinuing the rebellion and call for dialogue with the government. Saleh was shortly killed, in December 4, and his loyalists and members of his party, the GPC, have since been subjected to severe abuses.

Al-Eryani called on the local and international human rights organizations and activists to document the militia's abuses against the Yemeni people and most recently against the GPC members.
