Yemen welcomes UN's report on UNSC resolution 2231 implementation

Yemen has welcomed the U.N. presented  report of December 13 on the implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231. That's the resolution that endorsed the Iran nuclear deal and called on Iran not to undertake activities related to ballistic missiles for eight years."

Yemen's welcoming, via a Foreign Ministry statement, emanates from the angle of the country being roiled by the Houthi three years insurgency which Iran perpetuates by supporting Houthis including by ballistic missile expertise and materials.

Many Houthi missiles have been intercepted by Saudi Arabia the last of which was intercepted near Riyadh in early November.

Yemen also welcomed the United States ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley's condemnation of Iran's hostile activities in supporting and arming Yemen terrorist groups on top of which the is the Houthi violent Shiit Islamist militia.

"The Iranian regime's support to the Houthi militia in our country deserves not only condemnation but accountability, in light this terrorist militia has done; the coup (of 2014) and the devastating of Yemen's bridge for transition and transformation into a state," said the Foreign Ministry's statement.

The government called on the international community to take quick measures to implement the UNSC resolutions concerning Yemen mainly resolution no. 2216. The government also called for holding Iran and their Houthi proxy accountable for their hostility acts against the Yemeni people.
