Child killed in Yemen after refusing chanting anti-American slogan

A child has been killed in the schoolyard of Al Mahfad in Al Hada district in Dhamar province, south of rebel-held capital of Sana’a, said local sources.

The sources confirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia allied with ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh fired live bullets randomly at the students because they refused to repeat an anti-America slogan always chanted by the supporters of the Iran-affiliated Houthi group Yemen, causing the immediate death of the child.

The student’s family refused to receive the child’s dead body unless the public prosecution arrives in the scene of the crime and arrest the perpetrators who are known by names.

After prayers and different occasions in peace and war, the Shiite Houthi group shouts the slogan “God is great, death to America, death to Israel, curse the Jews and glory to Islam.

This cry has originally been in use in Iran since the inception of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Ayatollah Khomeini, the first leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, popularized the term. He opposed the chant for radio and television, but not for protests and other occasions.

The political chant "Death to America" has come to be employed by various Iran-affiliated groups and militias in the region.

In Sanaa, the Houthi militias kidnapped today many students under the pretext of not chanting the cry and took them to an unknown destination.
