Aden's Specialized Criminal Court Orders Trial for "Assassination Gang" Defendants

The Specialized Criminal Court in Aden, Yemen's interim capital, has ordered the Public Prosecution to bring to trial defendants accused of forming an armed gang and committing assassinations in Aden and Dhale governorates.

The court's decision came during its 18th session, held on April 16, 2025, and presided over by Judge Yahya Muhammad Al-Saidi.

The defendants, including Antar Kurdoum and others, are accused of serious crimes, and the prosecution has presented a 41-page memorandum containing evidence against them.

The victim's mother, Wajdan, has also filed a civil lawsuit, providing supporting documents such as an inheritance restriction ruling, operation reports, a death certificate and medical reports.

After reviewing the case, the court decided to allow the defendants and their lawyers to present their defenses and adjourned the case until May 6, 2025.

This development marks a significant step in Yemen's pursuit of justice, as the country continues to grapple with security challenges and strives to strengthen its institutions
