The Yemen Journalists Union reiterated demands for the Houthi militia to immediately release journalists Mohammed Al-Mayahy and Fahd Al-Arhabi, arbitrarily detained for their opinions and reporting.
Al-Mayahy has been held since September 21, while Al-Arhabi's health deteriorates in Amran's Security and Intelligence Prison.
The union condemned the Houthi militia's abuse and arbitrariness against journalists and opinion-makers, demanding:
1. Immediate release of Al-Mayahy and Al-Arhabi.
2. Freedom for all detainees.
3. Release of forcibly disappeared civilians Wahid al-Sufi (missing since April 2015) and Nabil al-Saydawi (Saba news agency employee).
The Houthi militia's court previously ruled for al-Saydawi's release, citing sufficient detention time, but refused to comply.
