Fire engulfs IDPs camp in Abyan, authorities appeal for relief aid to victims

Fire erupted in an IDPs camp in Khanfar directorate of Abyan governorate, in southern Yemen, causing significant material losses.
According to local sources, the fire destroyed most of the displaced dwellings in the camp "Meklan" in the area of Jawl Al-Sadah, built of nest and destroyed all the food and shelter materials, without registering human casualties.
Sources said that the fire was caused by an electrical short-circuit, noting that the IDPs are now wandering the land with no possessions, living under difficult humanitarian conditions.
The sources appealed to the director of the Executive Unit for Management of IDPs Camps in Abyan Nasser Al-Mansari, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Prime Minister, the Head of the Executive Unit, international organizations, benefactors and charity people to respond quickly by offering shelter materials to the displaced families and assist them with emergency food items to alleviate their suffering and that of their children
