The head of the Islah party Mohammed al-Yadumi has said that Islah, with its approach, values, and political agenda, represents a quality asset in the Yemeni political arena, the democratic path, and a bright page in the history of modern Yemen.
Al-Yadumi congratulated the masses of the Yemeni people, leaders, members and supporters of the Islah on the National Day, the birthday of the glorious September 26 Revolution, and the thirty-fourth anniversary of establishing the Islah party.
In a televised speech on the 34th anniversary of the party's founding, al-Yadumi said the Islah Party came into existence in light of the declaration of political pluralism and the democratic approach of the united Yemeni state to represent an extension of the modern national reform movement, and a political framework that includes those convinced by its political program to reform and advance the Yemeni reality based on the people's Islamic faith, national identity, and the goals and principles of the revolutions of September 26 and October 14.
Al-Yadumi stressed that the Islah Party has been aware of the Yemeni reality and the size of the challenges that no party can overcome alone since the first moment of its birth.
The head of Islah noted the party's contribution with its political partners in rooting political pluralism, the democratic approach, and expanding the base of national partnership, to support the republican system based on political pluralism and the peaceful transfer of power, reform the work of the state's constitutional institutions, work to strengthen local administration institutions, and strive to strengthen the federal state according to the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and enshrine the values of justice, freedom, and equal citizenship.
Al-Yadumi said that Islah is one of the most important political pillars to support the state and its national institutions in protecting the gains of the revolution and the republic at various turns. He pointed out that with the return of the new imamate represented by the terrorist Houthi group and its coup against the state and national consensus in 2014, Islah announced its firm position rejecting the coup and rebellion, and sided with the state and legitimate government, and with democratic methods of work and national consensus as the only way to bring about political change, and harnessed its capabilities and capacities in serving the national goals for which all free people of Yemen are struggling.
He noted that Islah paid a heavy price for standing on the right side of history, on the side of the homeland, and the legitimacy.
