Alsahwa Net- The Houthi Movement has been imposing restrictive regulations on relief local and international organizations.
A UN report has revealed that the Houthi Movement imposed restrictions on the movement of relief organizations inside Yemen, pointing out that travel permissions were refused or delayed, and that some employees of relief organizations were sized in Houthi checkpoints.
The report also cited that the Houthis demanded the UN employed women to accompany one of their relative when moving and that the Houthis also obstructed relief workers from accessing some camps of the internally displaced persons.
The United Nations has once more accused Houthi militias of hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to areas they control in Yemen.
Ursula Mueller, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, told the Security Council that Houthis continue to enforce a growing number of restrictive regulations on humanitarian action.
The Iran-backed insurgents “are still blocking or delaying half of all NGO projects in areas under their control,” Mueller said.
