Alsahwa Net- The presidency of the Yemeni Parliament discussed on Wednesday arrangements for resuming the parliamentary sessions in Aden. The parliament will hold its sessions to give a vote of confidence to the upcoming government that is expected to be formed soon in line to the Al-Riyadh agreement.
The parliament failed in the past four years to hold its sessions in the government-held areas due to armed opposition by the southern separation rebels.
The government signed last Tuesday a government- sharing deal known as Al-Riyadh agreement with the southern rebels. The return of the parliament to Aden is part of the agreement.
The Presidency of the Parliament discussed also its action plan for the coming year to exercise its legislative and monitoring duties.
Preparations for setting up the parliamentary committees were also discussed during the Wednesday’s meeting by the parliament’s presidency.
The parliament presidency members have also congratulated the President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi for the successful signing of the Al-Riyadh agreement.
They commended the efforts exerted by both the president Hadi and Saudi Arabia from the beginning of the separation rebellion in Aden to the agreement signing.
They affirmed that the agreement establishes for a new phase of the state presence to overcome challenges caused by the Iran-backed Houthis rebels.
