Alsahwa Net-Sulieman Al-Aqili, a Saudi political analyst, said On Thursday that Saudi Arabia does not accept terrorism charges against the Yemeni armed forces.
He indicated that attempts to label the Yemeni military with terrorism or affiliation to certain partisan groups are merely an attempt to foil the main mission of the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen.
Al-Aqili made this statement to the Yemeni Suhail Satellite Television on remarks to new accusation against the Yemeni army of being “terrorists by Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United Nations, Amira Al-Hufaiti.
The Yemeni government said that the UAE supported new armed rebellion by separation militants known as the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in south Yemen.
The STC rebels took control of Aden and expelled the government on 10 August 2019.
When the Yemeni army troops advanced into Aden late last August to end the separation rebellion, the UAE bombed the government forces and accused them of being “terrorists”.
The UAE military airstrikes killed then over 300 Yemeni troops, according to the Yemeni Defense Ministry website.
President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi demanded Saudi Arabia, leader of the pro-government coalition to stop the UAE attacks against Yemen’s armed forces.
