Alsahwa Net-Minister of Information, Muamar Al-Eryani, demanded again the international community to extend the UN arms embargo and intensify pressures on Iran to stop its “terror activities that undermine security and stability of the region and the world.
“Continued supply of arms by Iran’s regime to Houthi militia is flagrant violation to international resolutions on the Yemeni crisis,” Al-Eryani said.
He added that the government arrested a Houthi cell smuggling Iranian weapons to the Houthis.
The Houthis-cell confessed on being trained in Iran and its affiliated Revolutionary Guards, according to Al-Eryani.
“This is a proof of Iranian involvement in managing weapons smuggling and supporting Houthi with weapons, ballistic missiles and drones to implement its destructive agenda in the region,” Al-Eryani said.
He indicated that confessions by members of the Houthis-cell confirm that Houthis militia takes advantage of the Sweden agreement on Hodeida for smuggling Iranian weapons through Hodeida, Saleef, and Ras Issa ports
He said that the Houthis use the Iranian-smuggled weapons for “escalating military terrorist operations in Yemen and targeting civilian objects in Saudi Arabia and oil vessels and commercial ships in the Red Sea.”
