Hundreds of people took to the streets of Yemen’s central city of Taiz on Saturday to condemn “an insane” collapse of the national currency and rise of prices, 2000 days after the breakout of the war between the government and theocratic Houthi putschists.
The demonstrators raised banners reading: “2000 days of war. The economy collapsed, not the coup d’état.”
The demonstrators demanded the government in exile to return home and work on remedying the economic deterioration.
