Alsahwa Net- The Presidency of Yemen’s Parliament condemned on Monday a rocket attack targeted the Central Prison in Taiz city on Sunday’s evening by the Houthis militia.
The attack resulted into death and injury of female inmates and damage of the women’s section of the prison.
The government said that the Houthis bombed on the same day the pumping station of Safer oil pipeline in Sarwah of Marib.
The parliament’s presidency said that both attacks are heinous crime and a terror act.
It indicated that both attacks represent war crimes against the civilians and key economic installations.
It called on the United Nations (UN), its special envoy to Yemen, sponsoring countries of the peace in Yemen and human rights organizations to exercise their responsibilities towards all these “terror crimes”.
For its part, the Yemen Human Rights Ministry called on the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to take serious position and condemn the Houthis crimes.
The rocket attack against the Central Prison in Taiz killed six female inmates and one female child who was visiting her mother.
The same attack injured also several female inmates.
The Ministry of Human rights condemned silence by the international community towards the Houthis’ violations which they commit against the Yemeni people.
For his part, the Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani criticized the attack and demanded the UN to pressurize the Houthis to halt their crimes against the civilians.
“This hideous crime is continuation of series of killings committed by militia against civilians without distinction between men, women, children and elderly people,” said Al-Eryani.
