Saudi-led coalition: Trials began against violators of international humanitarian law

Alsahwa Net- Procedures of trials against individuals responsible to deadly airstrikes against civilians in Yemen have begun, spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition, colonel, Turki Al-Maliki said on Thursday.
Al-Maliki renewed commitment by the coalition’s joint forces to terms and rules of the international humanitarian law.
hundreds of civilians were killed in Yemen between early 2015 to late 2019 by airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition that fights the Houthis rebels to reinstate the legitimate government.
Al-Maliki says that the joint command of the coalition brings violators of the clashing rules and terms of the international humanitarian law accountable to any incident of violation.
So far, the joint command of the Saudi-led coalition has refereed results of investigations on incidents of violation to the concerned governments for action, according Al-Maliki.
He indicated that referred cases includes documents and proofs for completing legal procedures of accountability.
Courts began trials procedures to cases involved in violations to the international humanitarian law and verdicts will be made public once they are confirmed, Al-Maliki said.
He renewed accountability against violators of the international humanitarian law in line to laws of each member state of the Saudi-led coalition.
Al-Maliki said this during a joint press conference with the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Saeed Aal-Jaber at the Saudi embassy in London.
