Alsahwa Net- Nine Houthis fighters were killed, and 23 others were wounded on Wednesday due to a blast in an arsenal in Al-Saleef port of Hodeida governorate.
A chain of blasts rocked the Houthis-held Al-Saleef port, north Hodeida when the weapon store blew off while some Houthis gunmen were inside.
Ambulances and fire brigades were seen driving to the site, local sources said.
The weapon store is run by the Coast Guard forces in Al-Saleef port which has been under the Houthis’ control since late 2014.
The blasts caused large-scale damage to the arsenal site that the Houthis use to store their weapons.
The Houthis blocked officials of the United Nations Hodeida Mission to investigate causes of the blasts and report the damages.
The Houthis were supposed to leave Hodeida city and ports in line to the UN-sponsored Stockholm agreement that was signed in December 2018.
However, the Houthis show defiance to implementation of the agreement amid tolerance by the UN and the international community towards their breaching to the ceasefire in Hodeida.
