Alsahwa Net- The city of Aden continue to see assassinations on a daily basis amid failure to implement Al-Riyadh agreement that was supposed to end insecurity in the city and restore public peace.
The agreement was signed on 5 November 2019 between the southern rebels who control Aden and the government.
The city is still managed by the southern rebels affiliated militias known as the Security Belt Forces that operates out of the government’s command.
The southern rebels show defiance to the Al-Riyadh agreement that stipulates that all local militias be reorganized under the government’s control.
Eleven assassinations took place in the city between 29 November 2019 to 8 December 2019.
The incidents mark a growing insecurity that has been a feature of the city following the southern rebellion against the government early last August.
The latest incident took place on Sunday 8 December 2019 when unknown armed men on a Toyota-Hilux pickup shot dead a woman in Al-Memdara quarter of Sheikh Othman district.
On 7 December 2019, unknown gunmen shot dead Mostafa Mansour Abdo, a solider of the Yemen’s Coast Guard forces in front of Al-Hejaz Mall in Al-Mansoura district.
On 7 December 2019, gunmen shot dead Mohamed Saleh, deputy chief of the Human Resources of the Security Belt Forces in Al-Mansoura district.
On 6 December 2019, chief of Monitoring and Inspection Department of the Defense Ministry, Mosfer Al-Harthi survived a murder attempt by gunmen in Al-Memdara quarter of Sheith Othman district.
On 5 December 2019, other gunmen shot dead Salem Lahtel, chief of the Criminal Investigation of Al-Arish Police Station in Khormaksr district.
Ahmed Ali Salem, a government solider survived on 3 December 2019 an assassination in Sheikh Othman district by unknown gunmen but sustained serious injury.
On the same day 3 December 2019, Abdulfatah Al-Sa’adi, chief of military staff of the 4th Brigade escaped death when an explosive device went off in his car on the 90-meter Road in Al-Mansoura district.
On 2 December 2019, unknown gunmen shot dead Mohsen Al-Baiti, a businessman in his shop in Al-Sayla area of Sheikh Othman district.
On 2 December, unknown gunmen shot dead Lowai Jamal, a solider of the Giant Brigades in Sheikh Othman district.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead Salah Hujaili, an investigative officer of the Criminal Investigation in Al-Mansoura district on 1 December 2019.
On 29 November, Sami Ba Abbad, a judge survived a murder attempt in Al-Sha’ab city of Al-Buriqa district.
