Alsahwa Net- The chief of the United Nations Mission to Support Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) and the UN Redeployment Coordination Committee, Abhijit Guha, warned against hostile acts in Hodeida that disagree with the Stockholm agreement.
This UN warning came following the Houthis’ breaching to the UN-sponsored ceasefire in Hodeida where the Houthis launched several attacks against the pro-government forces’ sites.
Guha commended deployment of five ceasefire monitoring checkpoints around Hodeida city.
He indicated that the deployed checkpoints have contributed in decreasing the violence levels on the ground.
Guha said that recent reports talked about new trenches, mobilizing of forces and the use of drones.
He explained that these acts disagree with the truce agreements that were signed between both parties to the conflict.
He affirmed the UN mission support to the Hodeida ceasefire agreement by supporting both parties to work on a shared implementation mechanism.
He repeated his call to both parties to give up any act that contradicts the Stockholm agreement.
Guha called last week on all parties to the conflict to meet their commitment to the ceasefire in Hodeida in line to the Stockholm agreement.
The Houthis intensified their escalation in the past few days in Hodeida where they targeted and partially destroyed a field hospital run by Doctors without Borders Organization in Mocha city using missiles and drones.
