Alsahwa Net- The Iran-backed Houthis are exploiting poor and marginalized Yemenis to be recruited as soldiers.
Yemeni activists have affirmed that Houti leaders visited last week a number of areas residing by marginalized people in Sana’a and forced families to allow their sons to join cultural courses, which are always held before sending new fighters to battle fields.
Yemen government has accused the rebels of recruiting 25,000 children and “involving them in their senseless wars”.
“The Houthis had admitted that they recruited 18,000 children, but the real figure is more than that” Human Rights Minister Mohammed Askar affirmed.
He highly praised efforts exerted by the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths to end the Yemen war, calling Russia and the international community to put pressures on the Houthis to implement the Stockholm agreement.
