President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi on Wednesday called on the army and popular resistance, backed by Arab Coalition forces, to resort to military action to liberate the port city of Hodeidah.
According to the state-run news agency, Saba, Hadi said things in the Houthi-controlled Hodeidah have amounted to an intolerable catastrophic level, owing to the Houthi practices and maximalism in the face of offers of peaceful settlement.
"We have been seeking and continue to seek a peaceful solution based on the three basic references … and we have offered many concessions to avoid a military solution, but we cannot allow our people to continue to suffer like hostages for further long periods," he said.
Hadi reminded that the radical rebels sparked this war when they seized power by force in 2014.
