A group of Yemeni women activists have addressed to the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths a message of 10 points that they presented as a roadmap to resolving the military standoff in the country.
The women activists from Yemen's war-torn Taiz city issued their call in the form of a presentation that they disseminated through social networking websites on the World Women Day.
The message called for: forcing the Houthi militia to hand over heavy weapons and cities they control, end their years long blockade of Taiz city and stop recruitment of child fighters; Forcing all warring sides to allow humanitarian access through all ports of entry, allow civilian flights to resume, and facilitate the payment of salary to public servicemen. A transitional justice that is gender responsive; the return of all sides to talks.
