Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi said the Houthi rebels prove everyday that they are "disinclined and undesirous for peace".
According to the state-run Yemen News Agency "SABA" the Yemeni official told Simon Shercliff the Ambassador of the UK to Yemen that the rebel militia's recent threat to block international shipping in the Red Sea and its hold on" to maximalist stance" proves that the militia's nature of "extremism and indisposition to peace."
Despite the fact that Yemeni officials see the Houthis as just a brutally violent religious group that uncompromisingly pursues dynastical rule for their leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi as "a descendant of prophet Mohammed" and call on the United Nations to designate it "a terrorist organization", they welcome the UN attempts to broker peace with the Houthis if they may succeed.
