The General People's Congress (GPC), the party of the former President Ali Abdullah Saleh who was killed by the Houthi militia on Monday, said "the uprising which Saleh called for against the Houthis will go on."
In a statement today, the GPC said that they will unify ranks amongst themselves and with all the Yemeni stakeholders "against one enemy; the Houthis who rebelled against the government, government, unity and against the outcomes of the National Dialogue."
"We are all obliged to work under the umbrella of the government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi," said the statement. "We are also concerned in supporting the army and all forms of resistance" against the Iran-aligned militia.
"No matter the price, we will not bow in to the Imamite [reign of Houthis] which the martyr (Saleh) fought against in his youth and in his presidency."
"It is time for the world to realize that this fascist organization which kills humans, destroys homes and closes schools is committing an organized terrorism under the watchful eye of the whole population of the earth."
Saleh defected from the anti-government alliance to the government side early December and was shortly assassinated by the Houthis as a punishment.
