The major political parties have renewed their "full support" for President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his government in the face of challenges arising from Houthi-Saleh insurgency that has been dragging on for three years.
The major political parties inclusive of the General People's Congress, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and Yemeni Socialist Party met with Hadi over the political and military developments in the country.
After the meeting, the parties issued a joint statement laying emphasis on: Partnership with and support to the government; helping the government in provinces stabilization and in liberating militia-held territories; supporting Saudi-led Coalition's repellence of the Iranian expansionist agenda in Yemen; support to the UN Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh's efforts toward political settlement; rejection of sectarian and regionalist trends and the formation of new paramilitary forces outside the mainstream military institution; condemnation of the Houthi-Saleh militias' missile attacks on Saudi Arabia and the threats to fire missiles on the Emirati city of Abu Dhabi.
The parties lauded Hadi's meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman saying the outcomes thereof would alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering, referring to the Crown Prince's promised economic support to Yemen including the promise of placing a USD 2 billion in the Central Bank of Yemen which Yemenis hope will reverse the dramatic depreciation of their currency, Rial, versus benchmark currencies.
